Get to Know Me
My own journey
I trained at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education and have a postgraduate certificate in the therapeutic arts as well as a postgraduate diploma in child counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP, fully insured and DBS checked.
Before my therapeutic training I spent many years working in schools and as an LSA, I also trained as an actor, performing and running drama clubs and workshops for children of all ages often from some very troubled backgrounds. I always knew what a difference being able to express myself creatively had made to me at school, it helped me have a voice, and through my work with children, I saw what a difference it made to them too - I wanted to do more.
Now I not only work permanently 2 days a week in a school but I also work for the charity Kids Inspire as a sessional therapist, undertake work for the council fostering service and run a private practice. I really enjoy my job and feel it's a great privilege to be a part of these children's journeys as they negotiate themselves through their difficulties.
